I agree with both Jer and the main Rant at the top of the page. All MMOs are strictly based on the amount of time you play them. You can’t just own at an MMO unless you spend the time to learn the schematics of the game. You can’t just pick up WoW and own at PvE/PvP unless you learn how to work it. Of course, there are universal tactics in all MMOs: how to party, tactics, some PvPing, but not much. They aren’t like racing games where you can have a knack for cutting nice corners, or an FPS where you just have god-like reflexes and awesome strategy/team cooperation skills. As far as WoW’s players go, they are mainly dumb insecure assholes that talk shit because althought you’re better or worse they NEED something to say to you so they can feel good about their situation. And if they do, THEY’RE the loser, if you don’t then you’re obviously living happier than them. Just look at them and in a condescending tone tell them: “If you stop being a dick I can show you your first vagina. Of course, it’ll be your fat retarded sister’s, but that’s all you’re gonna get.”

I agree with everything but one aspect (which is something that annoys ME about WoW players):

WoW (yes, I’m sure I will annoy some people in saying this) requires 90% time, 10% skill. If you know how to use WASD, space to jump, click to attack, you’ve almost mastered the game. Learn some crowd control, roles in parties, and some information on quests/instances and you’re in great shape to hit 70.

That being said, it truly *is* the one who plays the most and, not necessarily (but it helps), has no life that will complete things first. It doesn’t take much of skill, just persistence.

The problem is, (and I’m pulling this statistic out of my ass), for 90% of people who play WoW, it is their first real game long-term experience. Blizzard did such an amazing job marketing the game that the whole world knows about it. Therefore, most people think if they can get to 70 on WoW, they are good at videogames.

You are sadly mistaken. WoW is a fun passtime, but it does not make you a ‘gamer’.

Anyways. Enough. I’m sure you’re sick of reading my opinions.

I almost entirely agree with your post. Although I have had to use the “It’s just a game” phrase in self defense. Sometimes in PvP when I kill an Alliance player they will create a character on Horde and start yelling obscenities at me. That’s usually when I have to use the phrase, and hope that it works :-P.

Hey! I was NOT curled in the fetal position…I was trying to take a nap, on my side, while you kicked me, and I was cold so I curled up in a little ball. Then, some dust flew in my eye causing it to water uncontrollably. Earlier, when I was washing my hands the sink shot water all over my crotch, and when I sat down to dry my hands…I must have sat in some pudding or something….NONE of this had anything to do with you kicking me, that TOTALLY did not hurt at all or anything. It was a total coincidence.
