Dear TJ’s Internet

I was a bit rushed when talking to TJ this morning (that last hour at work is a bit more hectic than the rest of the night) so I think I should go a bit more detail about the how and why I leveled another toon so quickly.

I started a trial account just to keep in touch with the guildies until I heard something from Blizzard. I had an addon called TourGuide installed but hadn’t used much, but came to find it is one of the most spectacular leveling addons ever, and I definately reccomend it to anyone wanting to level quickly. I wouldn’t really reccomend it to new players, as it does assume you know how to play your class, travel quickly, and basically skip alot of what makes the game enjoyable your first playthrough. I hit level 20 and the trial cap so quickly, I figured I may as well go all the way with it just to be able to play with everyone again. I ended up 70 with less than 8 days played, I believe. Between a good guide and the new leveling changes, it is really easy to get into the game if you are determined enough. Here are just a few of the major time saving tips though:
- Skip dungeons completely until 70, you can gain multiple levels through normal questing in the time it takes to complete a single dungeon in many cases
- Avoid detours: Focus on your next destination for leveling and get the supplies you need from there. Avoid “WoWmarts” (Major cities) as I like to call ‘em, unless you absolutely need to go there. You get decent quest rewards and the occasional drops that are just fine for gearing you up for leveling.
- If you do want to level professions, do it only with the materials you procure through the leveling process; don’t go our of your way or spend an excessive amount of time and money on them. I was surpised that I ended up very close to 300 on most of my skills by the time I hit Outlands, so I did take a little bit of extra time to get them up at that point.

I enjoy the company of my friends in AC way too much to give up that easy. They have been nothing but supportive throughout the whole ordeal. As of now, things are pretty much back to normal. I’ve had amazing luck since getting back into the swing of raiding and geared up enough to go back to being BRK’s survival hunter nemesis! I am actually very happy with my new toon; besides the vast aesthetic improvements of a female draenei hunter ;), the racial talents are turning out to be awesome for raiding and my playstyle.

Though I have been extremely disappointed by Blizzard’s support staff, I still love the products of their creative staff and I’ve tried my best not to let that be tarnished. And ultimately, I don’t mind being a sacrifice if the game is going to be a much cleaner and honest experience for everyone, though i do hope they improve their methods in the future.

P.S. Thank Doom for the name Alpacaa. I could not have come up with a better name for Lamaa’s long lost cousin :P
