December 1, WoW stuff
December 1st, 2009 | by TJ |“Did you hit 80 yet?”
“Nope, I’ve been holding off.”
“What, are there not enough people online yet?”
“Yep.”
“So… you’re holding off on hitting 80 until there are more guild members online.”
“I’m not going to deny it, I want the fanfare.”
“HA!”
“It’s a special thing!”

OMFG. HA HA HA HA HA.
My husband plays WoW and has recently moved to a horde (sp?) server and it’s ALL HE TALKS ABOUT.
I know that fanfare. I know, too, of a man who holds off for the fanfare. So fucking funny.

It would be pretty funny if he accidentally hit 80 while not paying attention. :)

It would be awesome if you knew his password and made him level in the middle of the night. I would totally do that.

Grrr damn Phil beating me to 80. Well, if I hadn’t been playing my main I’d have more time for leveling my alts.
How’s this for sad? My husband and I both started toons about the same time, and as long as I am the same level or higher than him I’m fine, but if he sneaks on and levels when I can’t, then it makes me grumpy. He’s found I’m much easier to live with when I’m not grumpy.

I can’t level with my husband because of that. He always passes me, it’s so annoying, because then he won’t wait until I catch up. But, if I can stay a little ahead of him, it’s less frustrating for me.
He found leveling in Wrath a little annoying because if you skip certain quests, you can’t get to the next phased section. I think there are still areas of northrend that are phased for him. Where I found the quest progression easy, I love quests, they are my preferred method of leveling.

Oh man, I’d get so mad at my boyfriend if he outleveled me. I beat him to 70/80 each time though because I’d sneak in xp when he wasn’t around.

Heh, my hubby and I did the same thing. Made sure to beat the guild master to 80 and made sure plenty of people were on to take notice. And we coordinated it so we would ding at the same time.

My gf and I grouped together for every level from 1-80 and we hit 80 at the exact same moment. We wanted the raves from the 30 guild members online, too. What followed was this:
*we hit 80*
Guild: (silence)
Guild:(me) What, no congrats?
Guild:(Guild Leader) …I think we’re all a little taken aback. I mean, we KNEW you leveled together but…jeeze…OBSESS MUCH?

We’re also guilty as charged – although I play more than he does (he’s away a lot), so I always tend to have a non “us” toon on the go too, that way we’re pretty much always in sync with our main characters :) Our guildies are so used to it now, they would be surprised if we didn’t “ding” or “achieve” at the same time…

My husband & I play together and have tried mightily to keep toons in sync but he always seems to leave me in the dust. He currently has 4 80′s and 3 in the mid 70′s while I have 2 80′s and 1 in the 70′s.
And and and…he always shows off when he levels… “Hey honey, watch this, DING!”

I will hit 80 tonight for the third time, and I will wait to do it until most of the guild is online. It is the best achievement to get imo. Plus, I want a lot of peeps to run HToC and other heroics with tonight.

True Steven… I was discussing what I should craft for my soon-to-be 80 with a guildie and he’s like.. why bother? we’ll just blow you through a bunch of heroics and TOC/HTOC and you’ll replace that gear anyway. Kinda sad. Sorry to hijack your thread, TJ.

When I finally hit 80 after grinding in Sholazar, it was like 1:30 in the morning and I considered waiting for the same reason, but I was so tired and just wanted to get it over with and said eff it and leveled anyway. It is a special thing, kind of like your virginity. Once it’s gone, you never get it back, LOL.
