Achievement Unlocked: Viable Bread
February 23rd, 2011 | by TJ |I’m really busy working on some actual work today (work that can, of course, be done laying down), and I have an OB appointment later this afternoon to see how my regular OB interprets the opinions of Dr. Stache, so I don’t really even have anything interesting to say (except that I got PLAY DOH in the mail yesterday from Phil’s Aunt Dani, and that is pretty interesting).
However! I could not let today pass without marking it with some kind of half-assed celebratory efforts!
If you’ll recall from my Pants of Defeat post of Butt Rust explanations, today is our first, and arguably our very biggest Butt Rust milestone!
Dear Garlic Bread,
While I don’t really feel like putting on a shirt that doesn’t show a giant strip of purple-striped belly and taking another picture for your 28 week milestone of fetal viability, and thus am reusing the 27 week picture, never let anyone tell you that I wouldn’t slap some pre-made picture decals and text onto a poorly cropped picture of your Hut for you.
So! Woo! 28 weeks! The point after which my regular OB is comfortable removing the Bread at any time! Let’s not think too deeply about the definition and implications of any time.
Now that I’ve put in the bare minimum effort (I also waved my arms around in a “woo hoo!” fashion when Phil came home for lunch), I’ve got to get back to doing actual adult things (that can be done from bed, but are not that thing), because if you haven’t noticed, this blog is naked and doesn’t pay me any money any more.
Do yourselves a favor, though – if you haven’t checked out the comments on the first post that I wrote yesterday (just because I’m not getting paid doesn’t mean I’m not going to randomly dump multiple 2000+ word posts in your lap some days)(though if you know anyone willing to pay me for said multi-thousand word dumping without imposing any kind of restrictions on what those words can be, you can send them my way), I got lost in this sentence.
Starting over.
If you haven’t read the comments on the first post I wrote yesterday, about outrageous behavior, please go do that. Because, holy shit.
I’m also still arduously filling my Amazon cart with baby miscellanea, so please feel free to drop your favorite teeny purchases in the other post I wrote yesterday as well.
Basically, this is like reruns, except I tacked 2 minutes of new material on the front and didn’t even have the courtesy to wait a few weeks to replay yesterday’s crap.
28 weeks! Woo!

Woo! I don’t know if it’s the right thing to say but: Congratulations, Garlic Bread, on remaining in the hut thus far! Here’s to many(ish) more weeks in the oven!

I love, love, LOVE the title of this post. I am quite happy to celebrate this Butt Rust milestone, while heartily encouraging Garlic Bread to stay in the oven a while longer yet. Confetti, and play-doh, and geometric coloring books for all!

Yay for the Hut of the Bread! Hope that she gets *at least* 4 more weeks of cook time, though 8 would be even better – a much more even golden brown color…
And you should totes be getting paid for writing, you’re really good and I enjoy reading your posts immensely.

Excellent milestone! Way to go GB AND TJ! Keep up the good work. Hey, if you look at it in retrospect, you have 3 out of 11 weeks DONE. That’s over 25%! (Totally keeping that 36 week goal.) Woo!
