For Kate’s Kate Shrine – and your you shrine?

CONTEST IS OVER!

Thank you all for entering this contest sponsored by LargeFormatPosters.com. I’ve used Random.org to come up with the winner (including extra entries for those who mentioned the contest in other places, if I saw them, which I’m reasonably certain I did) and there is a winner! Stacey, who said that she would use some nature picture she’d taken to decorate some bare space in the house. Hooray! Congrats, Stacey, you should be hearing from the sponsors soon.

**********

lfp_logoFrom time to time, I have gotten extremely generous offers from various companies and stores for giveaways and prizes for you guys, but I have been sorely neglectful and have not posted them to this point. You should all yell at me from withholding awesome free stuff from you. I mean, it’s not neglect ALL of the time. This one time, I got an offer to give away any prize I wanted from this one store, under a certain price point, and everything as so hideously ugly and old-lady styled that I was too embarrassed to give anything from that site away lest you think I actually LIKED any of it, and while free stuff is free stuff, ugly free stuff is still ugly, you know?

Anyway, I do indeed have another excellent offer today, and I’m finally getting off my butt and doing something about it. LargeFormatPosters.com contacted me and is giving away some free poster prints, and one of them is going to one of my readers. Hooray again! So I am now empowered to give away with high gloss or semi-gloss 18×24″ digitally printed poster. To you!

I think it’s really awesome that I get to give something away, and that it’s also something that you don’t have to rely on me for, considering the last disaster that we still cannot talk about outside of password protected posts.

So anyway, I was thinking about what I would do with a custom poster printing and I was kind of stumped, since I’m not a big picture taker. I mean, I could always do up a picture of Brinkley – this is my favorite:

0317200-r1-052-24a

But I already have that one printed on my credit card!

So I was thinking, you know who would probably like a big printed poster? My sister. And do you know what she’d probably like it to be? Herself.

What do you think, Internet?

bizzaro

Perhaps some bizzaro glasses?

fancyclothes

Or how about all dressed up in her fanciest clothes?

Oh, wait! I’ve got it!

momproud

Making our mom proud.
(Keeping in mind that our mother received a fancy kegerator from our father this past Christmas and almost cried she was so happy).

Anyway, Internet. If you would like to get your hands on one of these 18×24″ digitally printed posters, all you have to do is leave a comment saying what YOU would do with the poster. You must comment by 10am PST, Tuesday, July 28th in order to qualify. If you want to blog about this contest or post it to Twitter, come back and comment again with a link so I can enter you twice. Or thrice. Or whatever the case may be. Winner will be chosen randomly and announced… sometime Tuesday. Ish.

In case it is not abundantly clear: This post is sponsored. In return for posting it, I get to give you a poster, and I can also have one myself, if I’d like. Just so we’re all clear and stuff.

I’d put it in the back window of my car, so that people behind me would look at me with weird looks on their faces. OK, more weirder than they currently do.

I would love a poster of my carribean happy place. My favorite pic I have ever taken is The Kaibo Yacht Club, at sunset on good Friday 2005

It would be tough to decide, but it would definitely be one of the pictures I took while I was in Oaxaca last summer. I’m thinking either landscape or graffiti.

I would have a poster of me snowboarding over a jump and make it awesome with sponsor tags and the trick I was doing :)

I would get one of my husband’s AMAZING paintings so that I’ll still have a copy when it’s sold.

Dude … your sister is hot!

I like the Star Wars one, I’d hang it up right next to the other 6 Star Wars posters I have (one for each movie, of course)!

I’d have a poster made of the beautiful lake we spend a week on every year for our family vacation!

I’d probably get my favorite wedding picture put on there. :) I don’t have a really good large sized one yet. Kind of odd for a poster, probably, but would still be fun.

Okay, to be totally unoriginal, I’d probably get a nice picture of my kids.

Well, after much consideration, I would find an adorable picture of my son from when he was 1-2 so that I could be evil and show it to all his dates beginning when he is age 16 until when/if he ever ties the knot. You know they are a keeper if they make it beyond that.

I would probably print a naturey picture that I took to spruce up a bare wall somewhere in my house.

OMG – you did say you’d get revenge on Sis, didn’t you? Nice, TJ, very, very nice. Tell her I said, “peek not through keyholes, lest ye be vexed.”

I’d make a poster of some hideously gross woman and hang it in our kitchen. Then whenever the Hub complained about something, I could point to it and respond with “So you’d rather be married to THAT?!”

I would have one made of a picture from my wedding and give it to my wife for our five year anniversary this year.

Either snag one of the images for BRK’s going away, and have you ship it to him (something to decorate the new office with) or have a friend of mine assemble all my WoW characters into a single shot for a print….

I’d probably go with one of my photos… this one would make a pretty nifty poster, methinks.

Caption for the Star Wars poster of your sister:
    Revenge of the Sis

    (that was good, wasn’t it)

Hrm…your posting-box lies! It says I can add an image and then doesn’t show said image. :( Here’s a link instead.

I’d get a print of one of my photographs. I give away all the prints I make/get, but I haven’t gotten one that large yet and would like to hang up some of my own work sometime.

I would make a montage of all the vacation photos my wife and I have taken together. Or get my digital print of our WoW characters. Hmm tough choices there.

I would put whatever I got poster-size printed up in the Empty Room of our house so that the bookshelf has some company. It looks lonely.

I would probably get a picture of my wife and hang it up in my office. She hates getting her picture taken yet loves to take snapshots of me early in the morning or before my shower… not cool. Perfect revenge and yet I would still love to have the poster.

I’d get a family photo of my gf and our dogs(dogs are people, too!) that she could either take with her when she deploys in October or that I could keep right above the TV…to remind me both that she loves me…and that I need to walk the dogs.

We have a guild meet up in a month. I would use the print to have a large guild photo of everyone. Nothing better while raiding but to be able to actually see the idiots you are raiding with as they cause your painful death repeatedly. Plus it would be fun to shoot nerf darts at them!
