November 4, post-Apple Store Hugh Grant discourse

“What? Isn’t that what it says in your nerd movie?”

Star Wars is not a nerd movie. It’s a cult — no, not even cult, it’s a classic.”

“You know what is a classic? Love Actually.”

“No. Star Wars is a classic, loved by millions. Love Actually is just another Hugh Grant movie.”

“Loved by millions.”

“Of women.”

“…”

“So they only count for half.”

“…”

“Just kidding.”

“…”

“I’ll stop talking now.”

“…”

“I love you?”

Well, I’m shocked. How could anyone think there’s such a thing as “just another Hugh Grant movie”?

Is it wrong that I’m a guy and really like ‘Love Actually’? Star Wars is a classic, well the first 3 movies, and we can call Love Actually a cult classic. You both win.

Besides, it’s not just another Hugh Grant movie, it’s just another Hugh Grant, Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, AND Liam Neeson movie, PLUS the two hottties who were in love with Keira Knightly but I’m not sure they’ve been in enough things for me to add them to the “just another” list. MMMMMmmmmmmmmm.

You’re both right- Star Wars IS a classic. But I’m a guy, and I actually really like Love Actually. It’s my wife and my holiday movie.

Love Actually, while a good movie and one I have on DVD, not a classic. Star Wars (the original trilogy anyway) is classic. Gonna have to agree with Phil on this one.
