Be my witnesses.

July 10th, 2008 | by TJ |

Internet, I’m at work, and I just said something that I believe requires witnesses, so as to be possibly laughing at me later.

However, the statement I just made, well, I don’t know if I’ll still be working here by the time the results are visible, so the people who just heard me say it, they might not be around to roll on the floor clutching their sides later.

I walked in the door of my office and said, “Today might be a get-my-bangs-cut on lunch day.”

Someone looked at me and said, “Yeah, that might be a good idea.”

“But when I start my new job, I won’t be near the salon anymore for lunch time trims. And it grows so stupid fast! I can’t see a thing through my hair right now.”

So I sat down at my desk and said, “Maybe I should just buy some scissors.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah. I mean, how hard can it be to cut your own bangs, right?”

You’re now my witnesses, Internet.

It is incredibly hard – leave it to the professionals.

Didn’t you learn this lesson when you were twelve like everyone else?

Seriously, Dammerung is right, no good can come of this.

Have you tried growing your bangs out? I did, and I’m very happy with the result. On the other hand, a gay male and a straight female may not be going for the same look. I have a picture of myself on my website if you want to see.

    It’s not hard.

If you don’t mind the idea that the ends of your bangs will look like the sky over a choppy sea.

    Trust me.

I’ve cut my own hair for quite some time now… but I don’t have bangs. The one thing I’ve learned though – always cut less than you think you should!

Cutting your own hair is easy if the goal is to remove all of it.

No personal experience, but I believe I’ve seen other people do it, to varying degrees of failure.

Wasn’t it Machiavelli who said “The split ends justify the means”?

On the other hand, maybe it’s time for a new nickname?

    TJ and the Demonic Forehead?

I cut my own hair all the time… Then again I was in the Army for 6 years and now that I am a civilian again I still keep the same cut… clippers to the skull all the way :)

ahh – and I have the other kind of easy-to-self-cut hair.

waist length and curly. cut when wet, if it’s a little flooky on the ends, nobody will ever know – it’s curly!

If TJ was living in the South, I believe her exact words would have been “Hey ya’ll! watch this!”

And we all know what happens after that…=O

I do have bangs, and I do cut them by myself all the time. Not so much hard but requires some practice and caution.
Just try to cut it when it is half dry, this way you won’t end up in something like “s**t! was my hair making a curve there, now i look like Esteban :(”
I think you may do it well TJ, good luck :)
