Remember when I said it was just beginning?
February 29th, 2008 | by TJ |Remember Monday? Oh, how I long for the easy life of Monday. The amount of work a couple hundred accountants can generate over a weeked looked pretty impressive, huh? I mean, that’s just my own personal tiny part of the work.
Want to see what they can get together between 4pm on a Thursday and 7am on a Friday?
Between when I took that picture, at 7:12am, and right now – 7:33am – I’ve added four more files to the already teetering stacks.
And this Saturday, tomorrow, is the one Saturday I’m allowing myself to take off this tax season. I weep for my next-Monday self.

They actually drop them on a shelf at the front of the room, and I gather them throughout the day. The shelf is quite above my head, so the daily 7am careful tipping of the stacks into my arms is always an adventure. At this moment, I see another 4 returns waiting for me on that shelf.

Any doubts about this not really being TJ’s desk should be put to rest.
Not only the sign, which seems pure TJ to me, but did you see the Diet Pepsi in the background?!
The only thing to make it more of TJ’s deak would be a random tampon flying out of nowhere!

What do you do with these stacks of returns? Is your job to look at them and say “You can make how much, doing what?”? or do you stamp them “Up Yours” or “Demonic Ponytail Approved”?

@Boffers: She is in charge of burning them. A simple lighter and can of gas is usually enough, but occasionally she has to bring out the napalm and phosphorus grenades.
