It’s late

Dearest People Who Read This Crap,

This post is late, I know. I usually (“usually”) do one as soon as I get into work in the morning, but I… did not go to work today.

I’m going away for the weekend, I’m pretty sure I’ll post while I’m gone but I can’t be sure, since my brother’s laptop makes me want to dig out my own eyes with a melon baller. Oh, right. By “going away,” I mean going to my parents’ house and laying on their furniture and eating all their food for 3 or 4 days or so.

I may post while I’m gone, like I said, but one thing I know I can NOT tolerate doing is playing WoW on my brother’s laptop. I stayed up pretty late last night to reach the first sort of milestone in the Wintersaber grind, and hit 1500+/3000 into neutral, so the second quest has become available to me now. I know I got a TON of comments and emails with some good advice, so none of you who did that go anywhere, I’m going to commandeer some kind of computer-type dealie when I get where I’m going and answer those, because I have questions. Questions about how best to foil BRK.

So I’m sitting here on my bed, half dressed, half packed, half awake, and I realized it takes me a LOT longer to pack than it ever used to, because half the shit I have to take with me can’t go in my bags right away.

1. Cell phone – is charging. It’s a long drive and I’m doing it alone and it would be silly not to have a fully charged phone. So I’ve got to wait for that to finish, and then stuff it (and it’s cord – for the drive back!) into my bag.

2. MP3 player – charging and changing all the contents. I was really. Really. REALLY! sick of my own taste in music. On top of that, the radio won’t cut it as my parents live in/around/on top of/between/etc a whole bunch of mountains. AND for this drive, I usually also add on a couple of comedy CDs, makes it go by a little faster. Unless they suck.

3. Cameras! I’ve got one camera charging up right now, and one camera connected to the computer and rotating memory cards in and out to clear them off. I’m going to be around my sister, I need as much video storage capacity as I can get. So when THOSE are all done, I’ll be stuffing the two cameras, the battery charger, and a bunch of memory cards into my bag as well. Oh, and also, just in case, the video camera’s cables, so I can play my sister on the television for the amusement of others at her expense.

So anyway. I think I’m prepared to head on up there and capture some really good Kate in the Wild stuff for you, and hopefully I’ll be able to get in an update here and there as well.

Just in case I don’t get a chance, though, amuse yourselves with this video. That’s where I’ll be, if anyone is around, you can take me for a rum and coke. Just give me a call. You’ve got the number, right?

I can feel for you on the going to see the family thing, that’s what I am doing this weekend too, although for me it’s because it’s my birthday. Might be a little worse for me, I’ve neglected to mention I started smoking again, no smoke for me for a couple days. I hope I don’t kill anyone.

As for not playing, I hope you at least get a chance to check out BRK’s page before you leave. Looks like he has alternative reasons for making that bet with you. Maybe you should set the video camera up early and put the mic for vent up next to it so we can hear you scream at BRK. I bet Hobbes flees in terror.

I think you should load some Linkin Park on there! That would be GREAT driving music. :)

    TJ,

Drive safe and careful and all that jazz.

You’ll beat BRK, he may know hunters, but he doesn’t know how to make up bets.

I saw a Dunder-Mifflin sign in the video.

    Leet.
