Add turtle for instant awesome.
March 5th, 2009 | by TJ |First of all, Internet, thank you for all your moving advice. I am throwing crap away and labeling things like it’s my job. Which it kind of is right now.
I just have a few more days to go here in Maryland and just a few more things to do, aside from packing. Phil’s plane gets in on Monday, and on Tuesday, our Relocube is coming.
On Wednesday, we’re doing this:
Well, Wednesday. And Thursday. And Friday.
I’m working my butt off here, to get ready to go, of course. After flying all the way here and the fact that he’s going to have to do half [read: most [read: pretty much all]] of the cube loading, I want to have everything set and ready to load by the time Phil gets here.
But don’t think he’s not putting in effort himself, though. Not only has Phil rearranged his bedroom so I can sleep near the wall like I am used to, cleaned out his closets to bring his own wardrobe down to about 2 t-shirts and a loincloth to make room for my clothes, and bought a built a desk so we can play WoW in the same room with our backs to each other like every couple dreams of, but he’s also gone out of his way to make sure I’d be comfortable and happy once I get there.
Internet, if I had any doubts about moving in with this guy, which of course I did not, they all would have been solved by his spontaneous and thoughtful purchase of Testudo decorative items.

You know if you guys just kept driving for like another few hours…you could be in California! Land of plenty and home of the liberal media!

Good luck on the move, I usually go into a moving frenzy and decide it’s easier to toss everything away than to pack it. Don’t follow that as advice though, I for one don’t have that much of a disposable income, I’m just lazy. Nice security pillow, how sweet!

Very important that your boyfriend has learned the importance of fearing the turtle!
Pretty exciting times for you :)
Any way you can do blog posts from the road? Didn’t you used to do stuff from your phone?

@Vronak: I’m going to do the best I can. Phil will most likely have his laptop because… I’ve not seen him travel without it. So wherever free wifi is, I’ll do what I can.
I don’t really know how to work my new phone.

I drove a chunk of that route last week when I was traveling down to visit with family. Plenty of construction in the St. Louis area if I remember correctly.
Anywhoo, good luck with the trip. Glad to see everything is working out well for you.
