1. Blog most likely to make you laugh out loud on a daily basis: Probably yours, which isn't very helpful.

2. Blog with the best quality of writing: www.magnetoboldtoo.com . She could probably fit into the laugh every day category too.

3. Blog with the most helpful tips/advice/information (Can be any kind of niche – cooking, crafts, home & garden, whatever – not WoW, though, please): Not Quite Nigella - http://www.notquitenigella.com/ Awesome foodie blog (while the reviews are Sydney based, the recipes are pretty darned good)

4. Best news source: Um, this one is a stumper... I get my news from everywhere.

5. Best political blog: http://pissedoffteeacher.blogspot.com/ is political... in a non-political way. Teacher blogs are a funny niche

6. Best non-personal, mainstream, huge blog: I don't read any real HUGE mainstream blogs - yours is probably one of the biggest ones I read.

7. Most underappreciated blog: I'm not saying mine here, because even I think it's a load of dross. And, unfortunately, most blogs I read are WoW blogs.

8. Best/most promising new blog: Haven't come across any new non-WoW blogs recently.

9. All time favorite blog: Oh crap... can I pass?

10. Your blog: I can be found in a couple places, but the non-WoW one is www.snarksandladders.com

1. Blog most likely to make you laugh out loud on a daily basis:
cakewrecks.com
I know I'm not the first to list it, but if you're not reading it you should at least dip in every once and awhile - it combines cake with other people's stupidity. What's unfunny about that? Also, I really love fuckyeahryangosling.tumblr.com, but it's not updated as frequently and not technically a blog, I guess.

2. Blog with the best quality of writing:
smittenkitchen.com and 101cookbooks.com

3. Blog with the most helpful tips/advice/information (Can be any kind of niche – cooking, crafts, home & garden, whatever – not WoW, though, please):
aintnomomjeans.com
I get fashion advice from these hilarious girls and I'm not even a mom.

4. Best news source:
I get my news from the two below. Slanted news sources? What?

5. Best political blog:
bitchphd.blogspot.com

6. Best non-personal, mainstream, huge blog:
Jezebel.com

7. Most underappreciated blog:
tiniestsprinter.wordpress.com

8. Best/most promising new blog:
craptheblog.tumblr.com - a spin off of Crap Email from a Dude.

9. All time favorite blog:
waiterrant.net

10. Your blog (N/A is appropriate for this one if necessary):

I can give you the preview to all these questions quickly. I don't read "blogs", with four exceptions. My favorite author, Brandon Sanderson, blogs. I check his occasionally for updates. Neal Boortz, a libertarian talk radio host, blogs and includes links to a lot of interesting news stories.

The first and only blog I ever read regularly was Daniel Howell's Big Red Kitty blog, because I played a hunter and it is a complex class, and because Howell is witty. From his blog, I began reading yours -- recently.

1. Blog most likely to make you laugh out loud on a daily basis:

I don't laugh out loud. I might LQTM: Laugh quietly to myself. Yours and "Brain Needed Space" are most likely to evoke this.

2. Blog with the best quality of writing:

Haven't seen one yet -- all the blogs I've read (mine included) are too informal in tone for me to consider them 'quality' writing. Yes, I'm unnecessarily critical and arrogant.

3. Blog with the most helpful tips/advice/information (Can be any kind of niche – cooking, crafts, home & garden, whatever – not WoW, though, please):

Not WoW? How discriminatory.

Forget it. I used to ban all blogs carte blanche. When I finally DID start reading a single blog, it was a WoW blog: BRK by Daniel Howell. Since Howell is entertaining and smart, I have continued to follow him since.

I'm supposed to read blogs about KNITTING and find them entertaining?

4. Best news source:

No.

5. Best political blog:

Neal Boortz, which I read about once per quarter.

6. Best non-personal, mainstream, huge blog:

Neal Boortz again.

7. Most underappreciated blog:

No blogs should be appreciated. This question is self-contradictory. It is like asking what's the most under-appreciated cussword. Cusswords can be interesting and entertaining, but they won't change your life.

8. Best/most promising new blog:

Who keeps up with such things?

9. All time favorite blog:

Big Red Kitty. It was entertaining AND informative. Daniel's newer blog doesn't pack the same punch for me, but I still enjoy it.

10. Your blog:

Nobody wants to read my crap. My blog is a public log of my attempt to launch a career as a novelist. I use my own name as a domain so that once I am published, I will already have some branding under control.

I envision it as a place where my fans -- if I ever have any -- can read updates, behind the scenes information, and track my progress on future projects.

Right now it is all of those things, but I don't really have fans -- just friends and family. Don't bother checking out my blog until you've picked my book up from a retail chain, read it, and enjoyed it.

This is not in response to one of the above, but my friend writes a food blog with lots of pretty, yummy pictures: http://tabletwoblog.blogspot.com/

Probably the most awesome of the politicalish-in-nature blogs I read are http://flipfloppingjoy.com/ and http://actjustly.blogspot.com/.

I have no answers to the rest of your questions.

1. yours.

2. I don't read a lot of them, so I'll go with yours again because it reminds me of the way I talk. I'm not sucking up, I promise.

3. Since the ones I read are wedding related, Bride on a Budget. Or mine.

4. I'm lazy and just watch TV

5. Haven't looked for any.

6. Hrm....

7. eh...

8. Mine!

1. Blog most likely to make you laugh out loud on a daily basis: Actually this blog is the one I go for my laughs.

2. Blog with the best quality of writing: www.dphowell.com
BRK is the best and Daniel has a great sense of humor and easily portrays it in his writing.

3. Blog with the most helpful tips/advice/information (Can be any kind of niche – cooking, crafts, home & garden, whatever – not WoW, though, please):

4. Best news source: www.bbc.co.uk (less bias getting US news from foreigners)

5. Best political blog: www.hotair.com It's a conservative blog but Allahpundit is pretty funny. His posts on his atheism always stirs up a hornets nest.

9. All time favorite blog: BRK (RIP) His blog made me realize that blogs aren't just bitch fests from lonely basement dwellers.

10. Your blog (N/A is appropriate for this one if necessary): Email me if you want my blog. It's my family blog. Lot's of pictures of my 2 kids, family trips etc. Not terribly exciting or enlightening but I'm willing to share if you want.

I only read 4 blogs regularly, two are WoW related, yours and http://steven-pena.blogspot.com/ he's my nephew.
I like the idea of a news blog, but wonder how does a news blog work? Someone sits at a window and posts what he sees or does he watch the 5 o'clock news and tell you what he saw?
As far as a political blog, I will take a page from you and say if your views differ from mine then "Up Yours".
